Some History:
The Town of Lynne is located in the southwest corner of Oneida County, bordered to the west by Price County and bordered to the south by Lincoln County. Our eastern neighbor is the Town of Little Rice and our northern neighbor is the Town of Minocqua, both also in Oneida County.
The Town of Lynne is two sections in size and contains a large portion of the Willow River, Muskellunge Lake, Willow Lake, the south half of Pier Lake and the western end of the Willow Flowage as well as several rivers, creeks and streams.
Though more than 80% of the land in Lynne is owned by the county or state, the Town has 80.76 miles of road. All roads in Lynne are Town roads.
The Town's history includes a period of time where the logging of great white pines was a booming business and Tripoli had much more commerce and infrastructure than today. Logging of other types of wood continues to be popular today.
